Pakistani Actors Criticized for Supporting Country That Harbors Terrorists

Popular Pakistani actors like Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, and Hania Aamir are facing criticism after they spoke against India’s recent military action, called Operation Sindoor. This operation was carried out on May 7, 2025, by the Indian Army to destroy terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The strike was a response to a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, where 26 people, including tourists, were killed.

After the strike, Mahira Khan called the Indian action “cowardly” on social media. Hania Aamir also posted a message with similar words. Fawad Khan shared his sympathy for the victims but asked people to avoid anger and promote peace instead.

Many people in India, especially Indians living abroad, got angry with these actors. They questioned why these celebrities didn’t say anything when terrorists attacked innocent people, but were quick to criticize India’s response.

As a result, their social media posts were restricted in India, and screenshots of their comments were widely shared online. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) also issued a statement, saying Pakistani actors should not be allowed to work in India. They called the comments “disrespectful” and reminded everyone of the ban on Pakistani artists in Indian films.

This situation shows how social media comments by celebrities can create big controversies—especially during times of conflict between two countries.
