Fuel Trouble in Islamabad: Petrol Pumps Closed for 48 Hours

The local government in Islamabad ordered all petrol and diesel stations in the city to close for 48 hours. The closure started at 6 AM and will continue for two days. No clear reason was given, but it happened during a time of high tension between India and Pakistan.

Because of the sudden decision, people rushed to petrol stations to fill their tanks. This caused long lines and panic among the public. Many vehicles, including buses and taxis, are not running. Shops and businesses that use generators for electricity are also facing problems.

Some people believe the government wants to save fuel in case the situation gets worse. Others think it is a safety measure due to the current crisis.

This is not the first time such a thing has happened. In July 2024, many petrol pumps across Pakistan were shut during a strike over taxes.

People in Islamabad are being advised to stay calm, avoid unnecessary travel, and listen to official news for updates.
