Sources Say Trump Considered Shifting Gaza’s Population to Libya

A recent report has claimed that U.S. President Donald Trump considered a plan to move around 1 million Palestinians from Gaza to Libya. The idea was to send people living in the Gaza Strip to Libya and, in return, unfreeze billions of dollars of Libyan money held by the U.S.

This plan has not been confirmed officially. A U.S. official said the report is false and that such a plan is not possible because of the current situation in Gaza and Libya. However, the report has created a lot of discussion and concern around the world.

Leaders from Hamas, the Palestinian group that controls Gaza, strongly opposed the idea. One senior leader, Basem Naim, said that Palestinians would never leave their homeland and are ready to defend it.

The report also mentioned that Trump had a bigger idea to turn Gaza into a “freedom zone” or even a tourist area. Many countries, including Arab nations and the United Nations, have criticized these ideas. They believe moving people from their land like this is wrong and compare it to ethnic cleansing.

At the moment, it’s unclear if the plan was ever seriously considered or discussed at high levels. But the news has sparked strong reactions and raised questions about how world leaders should handle the ongoing crisis in Gaza.
