Haryana YouTuber Among 6 People Arrested for Spying for Pakistan
A popular YouTuber from Haryana has been arrested along with five others for allegedly spying for Pakistan. The police say they were secretly sharing important information that could harm India’s security.
The YouTuber, Jyoti Malhotra, is known for her travel channel called “Travel with Jo.” According to police, she visited Pakistan twice in 2023. During those visits, she made contact with people linked to Pakistan’s intelligence agency.
After returning to India, she reportedly stayed in touch with those contacts using apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Snapchat. Investigators say she used these platforms to send sensitive details about places and government sites.
Police have also arrested five more people from Haryana and nearby areas. They are believed to have helped her collect or pass on the information.
Officials say the group may have been paid money or received online gifts in return for spying. The police have taken their phones and laptops for checking and are trying to find out what information was leaked and who else might be involved.
This case has raised serious concerns, especially about how social media and online influencers are being used by foreign spy agencies. The government is now keeping a close watch and may tighten security rules for digital platforms.
The investigation is still going on, and more people could be arrested soon.
