Shastri Says Shubman Gill Can Be a Future Test Captain, Wants Bumrah to Be Used Carefully

Former India coach Ravi Shastri has said that young cricketer Shubman Gill has the talent and mindset to become India’s future Test captain. He praised Gill for his calm attitude, smart thinking, and ability to handle pressure.

Shastri said, “Gill is young but already very mature. He understands the game well and has the qualities needed to be a good leader in Test cricket.”

At the same time, Shastri spoke about Jasprit Bumrah, saying that India should be very careful with how they use him. Since Bumrah has had injury problems in the past, Shastri believes he should not be overworked.

“Bumrah is one of our best fast bowlers. If we want him to play for many more years, we need to manage his workload properly,” Shastri said.
