More than 1.32 lakh seats -Amaravati isn’t just building a stadium, it’s building history.

Amaravati is all set to bowl over the world with the largest cricket stadium ever built.

The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) has announced that Amaravati will soon be home to the world’s largest cricket stadium. This massive stadium will have seating for over 1.32 lakh people, which is even more than the famous Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The project has already received approval from the International Cricket Council (ICC) and is expected to cost around ₹800 crore.

The stadium will be the main attraction in a new 200-acre Sports City near Moolapadu, located along the Krishna River in NTR district. The full sports complex will cover about 1,600 acres and aims to meet international and Olympic-level standards. The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) is likely to fund 60% of the project cost, while the rest will be raised from state and local sources.

The ACA is not just focusing on the stadium — they also plan to set up cricket academies across different regions of Andhra Pradesh, including North Coastal Andhra, Vijayawada, and Rayalaseema. Well-known former Indian players like Mithali Raj and Robin Singh are expected to help train young talent in these academies.

Meanwhile, ACA is also working on upgrading the Visakhapatnam stadium so that it can host IPL matches and other big tournaments. The Amaravati stadium is expected to be ready before the 2029 National Games, and once completed, it will put Amaravati on the global cricket map as a major venue for international matches.
