Andhra Pradesh could soon see a youthful Chief Minister with revolutionary backing from a mass leader?

In Andhra Pradesh’s current political scene, one of the big questions making the rounds is whether Nara Lokesh, son of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, should be given the top job — possibly with the blessing of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. While Lokesh has gained popularity, taken on major ministerial responsibilities, and led large-scale public outreach efforts like the Yuva Galam padayatra, the timing and political structure may not favor an immediate elevation.

Lokesh is clearly being groomed for bigger leadership roles. His tech-focused vision, push for job creation, and youth engagement efforts have earned him praise both within and outside the party. While many see him as the “future” of Andhra politics, stepping into the Chief Minister’s shoes would require more than just popularity — it needs political timing, coalition approval, and public trust.

In short, while Nara Lokesh is rising fast, the Chief Minister’s seat may not be his just yet, especially in a power-sharing setup where Pawan Kalyan and BJP also play influential roles. His time might come — but 2025 may be too soon to make that leap.

Right now, the state is being led by an NDA coalition of TDP, Jana Sena, and BJP, with Naidu firmly holding the CM’s chair and Pawan Kalyan playing a crucial role as Deputy CM. As per current agreements, Naidu is expected to serve the full term as Chief Minister. There’s no public indication from any coalition partner, including Pawan Kalyan, that suggests a leadership change is on the table for now.
