Tourist Tragedy in Pahalgam: Terror Attack Claims 26 Lives in Jammu and Kashmir
A very sad and shocking incident took place on April 22, 2025, near Pahalgam, a popular tourist place in Jammu and Kashmir. Around 40 tourists were enjoying their trip in the beautiful Baisaran meadow, when suddenly terrorists attacked them and started firing.
At least 26 people lost their lives, and many others were injured in this tragic incident. According to reports, the attack happened around 1 PM. The attackers came from the nearby forest area and opened fire on the tourists without any warning.
A terrorist group called The Resistance Front (TRF) claimed that they were behind the attack. The Baisaran area, known for its natural beauty and pony rides, turned into a place of fear and pain within minutes.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah immediately went to Srinagar to check the situation and make sure the victims get help. Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also called this one of the worst attacks on civilians in recent times.
Security forces have now started a search operation to find the terrorists. The police and army are working together to make sure such an incident does not happen again. A helpline has also been started to help families of the affected tourists.
