TCS CEO Earns 330 Times More Than Average Employee in FY25
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has shared its salary details for the financial year 2024–25. According to the report, the company’s CEO and Managing Director, K Krithivasan, earned a total of ₹26.52 crore this year. This is about 330 times more than what an average TCS employee earned.
Krithivasan’s total pay includes a basic salary of ₹1.39 crore, benefits and allowances of ₹2.13 crore, and a performance-based bonus of ₹23 crore. Compared to last year, his salary increased by around 4.6%.
In the same year, TCS employees got an average salary increase of 4.5% to 7%. Some of the best performers in India received double-digit hikes, while international employees received hikes ranging from 1.5% to 6%, depending on the region.
TCS’s Chief Financial Officer, Samir Seksaria, also received a salary hike of 7.8% in FY25.
The company’s report also mentioned a drop in its spending on research and development (R&D). TCS spent ₹2,630 crore on R&D this year, which is less than the ₹2,751 crore spent last year. R&D spending now stands at just 1% of the company’s revenue.
TCS said that its salary structure is based on company performance and is in line with what other companies in the industry offer. However, the large difference between the CEO’s salary and employee salaries has caught public attention.
This report shows how big the pay gap can be in large companies, even when overall employee salary increases are much smaller.
