Telecom Industry to Hire More Freshers in 2025: Skills in High Demand

The Indian telecom sector is growing fast in 2025 and is creating a large number of job opportunities, especially for freshers. According to a report by TeamLease EdTech, 45% of new hiring in the first half of 2025 (January–June) will be for fresh graduates.

This increase in jobs is due to the rapid expansion of 5G networks, cloud systems, and a rising need for cybersecurity. Cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, Delhi, and Bengaluru are seeing strong demand for skilled telecom talent.

Some of the most in-demand roles include:

  • RF (Radio Frequency) Engineers
  • Network Security Analysts
  • Field Technical Engineers
  • Junior DevOps Engineers
  • Cloud Network Engineers

Each job has strong hiring in different cities. For example:

  • RF Engineers: High demand in Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Coimbatore
  • Network Security Analysts: In Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Nagpur
  • Field Technical Engineers: In Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Indore
  • Junior DevOps Engineers: In Pune, Gurugram, and Kochi
  • Cloud Network Engineers: In Chennai, Nagpur, and Chandigarh

To get selected for these roles, candidates need more than just basic qualifications. Companies are giving priority to domain-specific skills and certifications in areas like:

  • Wireless Engineering (RF)
  • Cybersecurity
  • Cloud Computing
  • DevOps
  • Cloud Network Architecture

Along with technical knowledge, recruiters are also looking for soft skills such as:

  • Good communication
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Analytical thinking
  • Adaptability to change

Shantanu Rooj, CEO of TeamLease EdTech, explained that companies are not just hiring to fill vacancies. They are looking for skilled professionals who can handle future challenges in the telecom and digital space. The telecom industry now also involves IT and data management, which means job seekers need to be more versatile than before.

Educational institutions are advised to update their courses to match industry demands. At the same time, students and freshers are encouraged to upskill continuously so they can grab the growing opportunities in the telecom field.
