IndiGo Flight to Srinagar Hit by Storm, Denied Pakistani Airspace
An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Srinagar had a scary experience on May 21, 2025. The plane got caught in a strong hailstorm while flying, which caused the aircraft to shake badly and damaged its front part (called the nose cone).

The flight had 227 passengers, including some Members of Parliament from the Trinamool Congress. When the plane was near Amritsar, the weather turned dangerous. The pilot saw a storm ahead and asked Pakistan’s air traffic control for permission to enter their airspace for safety.
