Early Monsoon Brings Heavy Rain and Thunderstorm Alerts in Many Indian Cities

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that the monsoon has arrived earlier than usual in many parts of India. Because of this, heavy rain and thunderstorm warnings have been issued for several cities across the country.

Cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Bhubaneswar, and Kolkata are expected to receive strong rains and thunderstorms over the next few days. People living in these areas may see water on roads, traffic jams, and even power cuts due to the bad weather.

The IMD has asked people to stay indoors during lightning and heavy rain. They also suggest avoiding travel if it’s not necessary, especially during peak rain hours. Farmers are being told to follow weather updates closely, as the early rains could affect crops and farming schedules.

The rain is expected to be helpful for water levels and farming in the long term, but the sudden and strong start to the monsoon can also cause problems in cities and towns. Rescue and emergency teams have been alerted in places where heavy rain is likely, so they can act quickly if needed.

People are advised to follow official weather updates and take care of themselves and their families during this early monsoon season.
