Taiwan Looks to Strengthen Air Defenses with India’s D4 Anti-Drone System

Taiwan is planning to buy India’s D4 anti-drone system after seeing how well it worked during Operation Sindoor. This system was made by India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and built by Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). It was used by India to stop enemy drones and protect its people during a recent terror response operation.

The D4 anti-drone system can stop drones using two main methods. One is a “soft kill,” which means blocking the drone’s signals or confusing its GPS. The other is a “hard kill,” which uses lasers to destroy the drone. Because of these smart features, Taiwan thinks the system could help protect its skies too.

Recently, Taiwan has seen more drones coming from China, which has increased tensions in the region. These drones could be used for spying or attacks. That’s why Taiwan is looking for a strong and reliable system to stop them. The D4 system can be quickly set up in different places and works well in both cities and remote areas, making it a good fit for Taiwan’s needs.

If Taiwan goes ahead with the purchase, it would be a big step in building stronger defense ties between India and Taiwan. It would also show that India is becoming an important player in making and selling modern defense equipment to other countries.

Talks between the two sides are expected to start soon. They will likely discuss how the system can be adjusted to suit Taiwan’s needs and how to handle the delivery. This deal would help Taiwan stay safe and also strengthen India’s position in global defense markets.
