Yunus Appeals to PM Modi for Continued Respect and Cooperation

Bangladesh’s temporary leader Muhammad Yunus has written a letter to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that mutual respect and understanding will help keep the relationship between India and Bangladesh strong, even during tough times.

The letter was sent on June 6 as a reply to PM Modi’s earlier Eid-ul-Adha greetings. In his message, Yunus thanked Modi for his kind wishes and said that the values of Eid—such as sacrifice, peace, and unity—are important for both countries.

Yunus also said he believes both nations can work together for the good of their people if they continue to show respect and support for each other.

PM Modi had sent his Eid message on June 4, saying that the festival teaches us the values of compassion and harmony, which are important for building a peaceful society.

Even though there have been some tensions recently—especially after political changes in Bangladesh—the friendly exchange of letters shows that both sides want to keep talking and working together.

This message from Yunus is seen as a positive step. It shows that despite differences, India and Bangladesh still value their friendship and want to move forward by focusing on shared goals like peace and development.
