Abdul Basit Says India May Take Military Action Against Pakistan After May 9
Former Pakistani diplomat Abdul Basit has said that India might take some limited military action against Pakistan soon after Russia’s Victory Day celebrations, which are held on May 9. He believes this may happen on May 10 or 11.
Basit shared his thoughts during a TV discussion. He did not show any proof but said that India could try to make a small military move for political reasons or to send a message.
He said,“India may try something after May 9… maybe on May 10 or 11.”
So far, India has not responded to his statement. Indian experts say this is just a guess and that India does not make such moves based on symbolic dates.
Victory Day in Russia is an important event that marks the end of World War II. Many world leaders attend, but it’s not confirmed if any top Indian leaders will go this year.
Some security experts in Pakistan say Basit’s words are just a warning, while others think he may be trying to create fear or political pressure.
At the moment, the India–Pakistan border is mostly calm because of a ceasefire agreement made in 2021. There have been some small incidents, but no big fights.
Right now, there is no sign of war or official plan for action between India and Pakistan. Still, such comments can create tension and raise concern, especially when both countries are nuclear powers.
