Amit Shah Says Mamata Banerjee Is Ignoring National Security for Votes

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, saying that she is more focused on getting votes than protecting the country. He was speaking at a rally in Kolkata.

Shah said that Mamata Banerjee did not support “Operation Sindoor,” a military action taken after a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. He claimed she did this to keep her Muslim vote bank happy. Shah felt this was unfair to the soldiers who risk their lives for the country.

He also accused her government of not helping security forces like the BSF (Border Security Force) by not giving them land to build posts near the Bangladesh border. Because of this, Shah said, many illegal people are entering from Bangladesh and changing the population in border areas.

Shah brought up the recent violence in Murshidabad too. He said the state government did not act properly and let the situation get worse. He blamed Mamata Banerjee’s party for supporting such acts and said only the BJP can keep the state safe.

In reply, Mamata Banerjee’s party, the TMC, said Amit Shah is trying to create hatred and is making false claims just to win elections. Both parties are now getting ready for the 2026 elections in West Bengal.
