Bihar Airport Becomes Exam Hall for 300 Student
A small airport in Bihar has become an unusual exam center for nearly 300 students. Since there are no flights operating at the Saharsa Airport yet, the empty runway is now being used as a place to conduct mock tests and practice exams.
Every Sunday, hundreds of students preparing for army and police recruitment exams gather at the airport. They sit in long rows on the runway with their notebooks and pens, taking tests in the open air. There are no desks or chairs — just students sitting on the ground, focused on their future.
Coaching centers in Saharsa say they don’t have enough classroom space for so many students. So, with the airport currently unused, they decided to hold exams there. “It’s quiet, spacious, and helps us manage large groups easily,” said one local teacher.
Photos and videos of the airport exam scene have gone viral on social media. Many people praised the idea, calling it a smart use of empty space. Others said it shows how small towns need more proper exam centers and educational facilities.
Airport officials have not stopped the activity but said the runway will no longer be available for exams once flight services begin. For now, the Saharsa runway is not just a place for planes — it’s a runway of dreams for students working hard to get government jobs.
