Did Vijayasai Reddy Make a Mistake by Leaving YSRCP?

Once known as one of the most powerful leaders in the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and a close aide to former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, V. Vijayasai Reddy surprised many by stepping away from the party and resigning from the Rajya Sabha. But now, questions are being raised — did he make a mistake by leaving YSRCP?

After his exit, no major party — not BJP, TDP, or Janasena — has given him a strong position or openly welcomed him as a key leader. This shows that these parties don’t fully trust him or are unsure about what role he could play.

Vijayasai Reddy was once the voice of YSRCP in Delhi and played a big part in national-level politics. But after leaving the party, his importance seems to have gone down. Without a new party or strong support, he now appears to be stuck in the middle — no longer in YSRCP, but not fully accepted anywhere else either.

Many people feel that he should have planned better before quitting the party. Leaving YSRCP without a clear path forward may have weakened his position in politics.
