Elon Musk Offered Protection by Russia After Trump Clash

A day after Elon Musk had a public argument with former U.S. President Donald Trump, some Russian leaders have offered him political asylum. This means they are offering him safety and a place to live in Russia if he feels unsafe or unfairly treated in the U.S.

The offer came from Dmitry Novikov, a top Russian politician. He said that while Elon Musk probably doesn’t need asylum right now, Russia would be willing to give it to him if things get worse. He compared it to when Russia gave asylum to Edward Snowden, who leaked U.S. government secrets and now lives in Russia.

The fight between Musk and Trump started after Musk criticized Trump’s new tax and spending plan. In response, Trump became angry and said Musk’s government deals should be canceled. Musk then went even further, saying Trump should be impeached and accusing him of being connected to secret files about Jeffrey Epstein.

Russian officials responded with jokes and offers. One official, Dmitry Medvedev, said he could help solve the fight if Musk gave him shares of Starlink, Musk’s satellite internet company. Another official, Dmitry Rogozin, said Musk would be welcome in a pro-Russian tech group and would have full freedom to work on new ideas.

The Russian government has not made an official offer, but these comments show that Russia is closely watching what’s happening in the U.S. between Musk and Trump. It also shows how politics, business, and global relationships are all connected today.

While it’s not likely that Musk will actually move to Russia, the offer has caught the world’s attention and added more drama to an already tense situation.
