‘I Don’t Drink, I’m Not Buying RCB,’ DK Shivakumar Responds to Viral Claims
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has denied the rumour that he is buying the IPL team Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Speaking to the media, he laughed off the news and said, “I’m not a madman. I don’t even drink Royal Challenge.”
This statement came after social media was filled with posts claiming Shivakumar was planning to purchase RCB. Many people shared the rumour without checking the facts, and it quickly went viral.
Shivakumar, clearly annoyed by the false news, said he has no connection with the team and is not interested in buying any cricket franchise. He also said that he does not drink alcohol, making the joke about Royal Challenge, which is also a liquor brand linked to the RCB name.
RCB is currently owned by United Spirits, a company under Diageo. The team is very popular in the IPL and has big players like Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis.
Shivakumar also used this opportunity to warn people about fake news. He said that many people are spreading lies online and others are blindly believing them. He requested everyone to be more careful and responsible when sharing news on social media.
DK Shivakumar is not buying RCB, and the viral rumour is completely false. He made it clear that he has no interest in owning a cricket team and advised the public not to fall for baseless stories.
