Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has confirmed that the Indian Air Force attacked the Nur Khan airbase during Operation Sindoor. He said that Army Chief General Asim Munir informed him about the strike at 2:30 in the early morning on May 10.
This is the first time the Prime Minister has officially spoken about the attack. The Nur Khan airbase, also known as Chaklala, is one of Pakistan’s most important military bases, located near Islamabad. It is used for important military and VIP flights.
PM Shehbaz did not share many details about the damage but said the strike was serious. He added that the military took immediate steps to protect the country and is staying fully alert.
Earlier, satellite photos and reports showed signs of damage at several airbases in Pakistan, including Nur Khan. Now, the Prime Minister’s words confirm that the Indian operation had a real impact.
Pakistan has already started repairing the damaged bases by inviting companies to help rebuild. The Prime Minister said the government is also looking at ways to respond wisely and keep peace in the region.
