Ursa Clusters Private Limited, a newly formed company, has come into the spotlight due to its rapid business deals with the governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The company signed agreements to set up large data centers in both states within weeks of its registration in India. This has raised serious concerns among the public and opposition parties.
Ursa Clusters was registered in India in February 2025. Just before that, in January, the Telangana government signed an agreement with the company for building a 100 MW Artificial Intelligence (AI) data center in Hyderabad, with an investment claim of around ₹5,000 crore. Then, in April, the Andhra Pradesh government allotted about 60 acres of land in Visakhapatnam to Ursa Clusters to set up another data center worth ₹5,728 crore.
While these investments sound impressive, many people are asking how such a newly formed company was able to get such large projects and land so quickly. Opposition leaders have questioned whether proper checks were done before signing these deals. Some also pointed out that the company’s address is just a flat in Hyderabad, and that it has no website, no public contact number, and no known track record in India. This raises doubts about whether the company can really deliver such big projects.
In comparison, top IT companies like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) received much smaller land allotments for similar investments. This difference has made critics wonder if these deals were fair or if something suspicious is going on.
Leaders from political parties like BRS have openly questioned the government, saying these agreements should be more transparent and need to be reviewed. So far, Ursa Clusters has not given any official response to these concerns, and the state governments have also not shared any clarification.
As the situation continues to develop, people are demanding more transparency in such large public-private partnerships—especially when government land and taxpayers’ money are involved.
