Rajnath Singh Questions Pakistan’s Nuclear Safety, Suggests Global Monitoring
India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh made strong comments about the safety of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons. While speaking to soldiers in Srinagar, he asked whether Pakistan is capable of safely handling such dangerous weapons.
Rajnath Singh said that Pakistan is acting like an irresponsible country and that the world should be worried about its control over nuclear arms. He suggested that Pakistan’s nuclear weapons should be monitored by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) — the global body that checks the use of nuclear materials.
These comments came just days after a terror attack in Kashmir killed 26 people. India blamed the attack on Pakistan-based groups and carried out airstrikes in response. This led to missile and drone attacks from both sides before the situation calmed down.
Singh said that India will not be scared by Pakistan’s nuclear threats and will always take action against terrorism. He believes that a country that cannot stop terrorism within its borders should not be allowed to keep nuclear weapons without international checks.
Pakistan’s government strongly disagreed with Singh’s statements. Its foreign office called them “irresponsible” and said Pakistan’s nuclear weapons are under safe control.
This exchange has once again increased tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. Experts say the situation highlights the need for diplomatic talks and international attention to ensure peace and safety in the region.
