Russia Says No Big Deal Signed With Pakistan, Calls News Fake
Russia has clearly said that it has not signed any big money deal with Pakistan, calling such news fake and misleading. Russian officials said that these reports are not true and may be trying to create problems between Russia and India.
Some news from Pakistan claimed that Russia and Pakistan had agreed on a large project to work together on reviving Pakistan Steel Mills in Karachi. These claims came after a meeting on May 13 between Haroon Akhtar Khan, who works with Pakistan’s Prime Minister, and a Russian diplomat named Denis Nazirov.
However, Russia has now said that while the meeting did happen, there was no agreement or deal signed. Russian officials explained that talks were general and informal, and no official plans or investments were made.
A Russian government spokesperson said the news was exaggerated and not based on facts. He added that some people might be spreading these stories to damage Russia’s close relationship with India—especially at a time when India recently carried out Operation Sindoor against terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Russia made it clear that India is one of its closest and most trusted partners. While Russia and Pakistan sometimes talk about working together on old projects, like the steel mill from Soviet times, no major deal has been agreed to yet.
In short, Russia has called the news about a multibillion-dollar deal with Pakistan completely false and said that it remains committed to its friendship with India.
