Communal violence Breaks Out in Nainital After Arrest of Elderly Man in Rape Case

In a disturbing turn of events, violence erupted in Nainital, Uttarakhand, after the arrest of a 75-year-old man from a minority community accused of raping a 12-year-old girl. The incident triggered tension between different communities, leading to clashes, stone-pelting, and damage to property in some parts of the town.

According to police officials, the girl’s family lodged a complaint, and the medical examination supported their claim. The elderly man was taken into custody and is being investigated under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
