Australia and South Africa in Tough Fight at WTC Final in Lord’s
The World Test Championship (WTC) Final between Australia and South Africa at Lord’s cricket ground has turned into an exciting match filled with great bowling and close competition.
Australia batted first but could only score 212 runs. South Africa’s fast bowler Kagiso Rabada bowled very well and took 5 wickets, making it hard for the Australian batters. However, when South Africa came to bat, they struggled even more. They were all out for just 138 runs. Pat Cummins, the captain of Australia, took 6 wickets and reached a big milestone—300 wickets in Test cricket.
In the second innings, Australia again lost quick wickets. By the end of Day 2, they had scored 144 runs for 8 wickets, giving them a lead of 218 runs. Alex Carey scored 43 runs, and Mitchell Starc was still not out, helping Australia stay in the game.
South African players Temba Bavuma and David Bedingham tried their best in the first innings with scores of 36 and 45, but it wasn’t enough to take the lead. Their bowlers, including Rabada and Lungi Ngidi, are still fighting hard to stop Australia from scoring more.
The pitch at Lord’s has been difficult for batters, with 28 wickets falling in just two days. The ball is swinging and bouncing a lot, making it tough to stay at the crease.
As the match goes into Day 3, both teams still have a chance to win. Australia will try to add more runs, while South Africa will hope to take the last two wickets quickly and chase a manageable target.
Fans are enjoying the close contest, and the final could go either way. Everyone is waiting to see who will become the new World Test Champion.
