Rahul Dravid Expresses Sadness Over RCB Celebration Stampede
Former Indian cricket captain Rahul Dravid said he was very sad and disappointed after a stampede happened during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) victory celebration. The stampede took place outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and led to several deaths and many injuries.
RCB had just won their first IPL trophy, and thousands of fans came to celebrate. But the crowd became too big, and people started pushing near the stadium gates. A part of a temporary structure near the entrance collapsed, which caused panic. In the rush, many people were injured, and some lost their lives.
Rahul Dravid, who is from Bengaluru, said it was heartbreaking that a happy moment turned into such a sad one. He offered his condolences to the families of the people who died and hoped for a quick recovery for those who were hurt.
Police and emergency teams came quickly to help, and several people have been arrested for mismanaging the event. The government has said it will support the victims’ families and take steps to prevent this kind of tragedy in the future.
Dravid also said that Bengaluru is a city full of sports lovers and such a tragedy should never happen again. He asked event organizers and city officials to make sure proper safety plans are in place during big events.
He ended by saying that this sad event must be taken seriously and that better crowd control and planning can save lives in the future.
