RCB Beats LSG in a High-Scoring Thriller to Reach IPL 2025 Playoffs

In an exciting IPL 2025 match on May 27, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by six wickets. The game was played at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow and was the last league match of the season.

LSG batted first and scored a huge total of 227 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs. Their captain, Rishabh Pant, played an outstanding innings, scoring 118 runs from 61 balls. This was his first century in seven years. Mitchell Marsh also played well and scored 67 runs from 37 balls.

RCB started the chase strongly with Virat Kohli scoring 54 runs from 30 balls. The star of RCB’s innings was Jitesh Sharma, who smashed 85 runs from just 33 balls. He hit big shots all over the ground and stayed not out till the end. Mayank Agarwal also supported him well, scoring 41 runs from 23 balls.

RCB reached the target in 18.4 overs and won the match with 8 balls left. Jitesh Sharma was named the Player of the Match for his powerful batting. Even though Rishabh Pant played an excellent innings, LSG could not win the match and missed the chance to enter the playoffs.

With this win, RCB moved into the playoff stage and will now face the Punjab Kings in Qualifier 1. The match showed how thrilling and unpredictable the IPL can be, with great performances from both teams.
