Sunrisers Hyderabad Beat Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk for the First Time.

On April 25, 2025, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) finally won their first match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. It was a big moment for SRH because they had never won here before.

In the match, CSK batted first. They could only score 154 runs before getting all out in 19.5 overs. Dewald Brevis scored the highest for CSK with 42 runs from 25 balls. Another player, Ayush Mhatre, helped with a quick 30 runs. However, SRH’s bowler Harshal Patel bowled really well and took 4 important wickets, stopping CSK from making a bigger total.

When SRH came to bat, they also lost some wickets early. But Kamindu Mendis and Nitish Kumar Reddy played very carefully and safely. They built a strong partnership and made sure SRH won the match easily. Kamindu Mendis stayed not out with 32 runs and finished the match in 18.4 overs.

This match was very special because CSK lost four matches in a row at their home ground — something that had never happened before. Because of this loss, CSK moved to the bottom of the points table, making it very hard for them to reach the playoffs.

It was also a special day for MS Dhoni, who played his 400th T20 match. But sadly for Dhoni and the CSK fans, they couldn’t celebrate with a win.
